Barry Goldwater was quite a historic Senator...first being very conservative to opening the gates for the Libertarians, a party with no set principals or ethics. Politics are so interesting, aren't they?
Really? I should read up on him. I'm guessing he was way before my time, though the name is familiar. But regardless of who said it, the quote is still an important caveat for the political current that's sucking the nation under.
well....while you ladies are talking politics....I just wanted to say that I love you lynetta and I hope all is well in TN!
AJ--it's a beautiful fall here and we're enjoying the amazing colors on the leaves and 70 degree weather! Keeping busy with all the back to "school" activities too. Love you lots!

Barry Goldwater was from AZ; I remember that because Grandma Rubye voted for him; I wasn't quite old enough to vote yet when he ran for president. The year I turned 18, was the first year 18 year olds were allowed to vote. I have voted everytime since! :o)
Your Tenn weather sounds wonderful, Lynetta. It is raining and gross today back here in Oregon. Do you have a lot of spiders and snakes out there? That is one thing I love about Oregon——we don't have a lot of bugs.

Jolene said what I was going to say about Barry Godlwater. When we (as a family with Mom & Dad)used to bring Gramma & Grandpa down here down here to winter with the Spencers. Gramma used to point out all the land marks and buildings named after him. There are still libraries and public places being named after him today! He was a big contributor to AZ, monetarily along with politically. He has relatives living right here in this town!

last night on PBS there was a great documentary about Lyndan Johnson and has some stuff about Barry GOldwater in it. I thought about you!
